CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS GROUP
A new AGC special interest group dedicated to serving
the needs of senior management from advertising, publishing
and corporate communications was formed in June 1998.
Bimonthly 8:30-10:30AM idea-exchange roundtables are
scheduled for those responsible for print and electronic
media production and/or procurement. Participants in
this start-up group include representatives from AT&T,
American Express, Citibank, J. Crew, Pall Corporation,
Prudential Securities, Hearst Magazines, The New Yorker,
Standard & Poor's, Time Warner, BBDO Worldwide,
Grey Direct, Saatchi & Saatchi and Young & Rubicam.
These sessions will address issues such as procurement
practices, in-house vs. outsourcing production, effective
workflow, as well as many of today's technical challenges,
e.g., digital and remote proofing, PDF, TIFF-IT, computer-to-plate,
etc.
SECTIONS - LONG ISLAND
AND NEW JERSEY
These Regional Sections of AGC are responsible for developing programs that address technological change,
economic impact/bottom-line related trends and management/marketing techniques. They also identify for the NY and
NJ Public Affairs Committees, state-related issues which impact business operations, and coordinate professional development
programs and various social functions designed to encourage member participation.
Included among the Sections' responsibilities are membership development and retention, involvement in state and local
government/agencies and interaction with educational and training institutions on a localized basis (meetings with graphic arts
guidance counselors and instructors, scholarships, awards, etc.).
